Shock-stricken school children of Sandy Hook Elementary School have been facilitated to come back to school on January 2 at a new building as the children, their parents and school officials reclaim normalcy back in their lives after that fateful shooting spree last week that claimed the lives of 20 children and six school staff.

This as a White House official revealed U.S. President Barack Obama is set to assign U.S. Vice President Joe Biden to chair a panel that will formulate new policies to address gun violence in the United States.

"We can confirm that the expected day for Chalk Hill to open will be January 2," Kelly Donnelly, a spokeswoman for the Connecticut Education Department, was quoted by The Herald Sun.

The new designated building for Sandy Hook was a converted Chalk Hill Middle School in nearby Monroe that had been out of use for sometime. The structure is currently being painted, refurbished and decorated to somehow resemble the original home of the school children that was the Sandy Hook Primary School.

The former building where Sandy Hook used to hold classes still remains a crime scene as investigators continue to gather evidences leading and surrounding the painful shooting massacre spree of 20-year-old gunman Adam Lanza who likewise died that instant after committing suicide.

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy have asked residents and constituents to observe a minute's silence tomorrow, Friday, at 9:30 a.m., the time young Lanza began his massacre shooting spree.

Meanwhile, Mr Biden will be appointed to organise and lead an interagency panel to formulate new policies to address gun violence in the United States following last week's Newtown, Connecticut shooting massacre.
