The North American Aerospace Defense Command is going to track Santa Claus' voyage this Christmas. They have released a video preview to show the test drive.
You can track Santa this Christmas by going to NORAD's Web site. You may be surprised to see him with new acquaintances this time. Instead pointy ears, glowing nose or antlers; his new companion has got missiles to protect him, The Blaze reports. The annual Santa tracker has been updated on the Web site and, according to the updated version; a fighter jet is going to escort Santa on Christmas Eve.
A couple of military aircraft is going to escort the sleigh and the reindeer. It will also be tagged with "Big Red One" tag which is going to help it track as well as protect the voyage on the Christmas Eve. The NORAD Web site already attracted 23.3 million visitors during their effort in 2012. In 2013, however, they provide you with a video preview of the flight. It also includes a test flight which explains their defensive strategy in the military mission.
NORAD spokesman Jeff Davis, also the Navy Captain, said that they made it in a cute was since it was designed for children. On the other hand, he has said that they did not want people to forget what NORAD's real mission is. He was talking to the Boston Globe as he said that the jets were added to the voyage partially for give the programme a feel of the operational nature.
According to Reuters, Mr Davis has also informed that this is not the first time such jets are associated with Santa. He has added that fighter jet escorts had already been associated with Santa for over 60 years even though this is the first time the jets have been depicted in the animated form.
The video preview covers Santa's trip starting from the North Pole and moving across Canada to the U.S.A.
