Santa makes a fashion statement with model Paul Mason, takes the Internet by storm
Paul Mason has been a model for more than 30 years. It was his plan to give Santa Claus a complete adult makeover and make girls swoon over him. This year, at Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Canada, Fashion Santa will not only be making kids happy but girls will be queuing up to have a look at this dashing handsome Santa. Mason has been working for this plan for more than two years. He is hitting the mall with his new wardrobe to do what Santa does best – mesmerise.
The modern Santa is now a major draw at the Toronto mall. Mason says “Bond” actor Daniel Craig is a major influence on him. According to News.com.au, the Fashion Santa in Canada is a lot more hipster than the average Santa. Hired by the mall, this Santa is drawing a very different set of crowd than one would expect because of his hipster-styled white beard and groomed white hair. The round belly is gone and the rosy cheeks have been replaced by Mason’s angular cheekbones.
A visit to this Toronto mall will definitely make one come across this hot Santa roaming around and flaunting brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, DSquared2, Burberry and more. He has something about him that will make everybody look twice, writes Huffington Post. Depending on one’s preference, the Fashion Santa will surely feature in either the nice or the naughty list.
However, apart from the “wow” factor, there is another reason for Fashion Santa’s appearance. Mason is raising money for SickKids Foundation. The mall will be donating $1 to the foundation for every selfie taken with Mason and posted with the hashtag #YorkdaleFashionSanta.
Social media has gone into overdrive. People have been expressing their thoughts with many supporting the makeover and many criticising it. As adults are the main focus of Fashion Santa, Mason said that he is staying away from children so that they don’t confuse him with the traditional Santa.
