Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana is currently collaborating with actor Benjamin Bratt, and brother Peter Bratt, to put together a biopic, sources disclosed this week.

"They've already told the story of Selena, of Ritchie Valens, and before that there was Tito Guízar, but still no Santana," the musician said.

"We're going to start having interviews in order to present my story clearly, so that people know where I come from, who I am...so that people know that my mother is conviction and my father is charisma."

Benjamin Bratt, most famous for his role as Rey Curtis on the TV series Law & Order, and his appearances in the movies Blood in Blood Out, Miss Congeniality, Traffic, and Piñero, is set to portray Carlos Santana.

Scheduled to begin filming sometime in 2011, the currently unnamed project is still being written.

One of the top 15 guitarists in history (according to Rolling Stone), Carlos Santana was born in Jalisco, Mexico in 1947. The gifted musician started playing the guitar at the age of 8. He rose to fame for his legendary performance at Woodstock in 1969, and became the first Hispanic to win a Grammy for "Record of the Year" for the song "Smooth."

Carlos Santana is one of the artists featured on "Claro Que Se Puede," a new pro-immigrant track to be launched soon. This track, along with "Si Se Puede," will be included in the "Projecto de Amor" album set for release this fall.
