Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker paid her respect for the late Alexander McQueen on Monday (September 20) in the UK. Parker went to St. Paul's Cathedral in London to participate in the memorial for the designer, as the city celebrates London Fashion Week.

"[Alexander McQueen] showed us everything was possible, dreams could become reality," Parker said during the service, according to Us Weekly.

"But he left us with an even more exceptional legacy, a talent that soared like the birds of his childhood above us all."

McQueen took his life last February following the death of his own mother. He is known for his unconventional designs and shock tactics.

McQueen was the head designer at Givenchy for 5 years, after which he founded the Alexander McQueen and McQ labels.

Other celebrities and fashion figures who attended the service was Vogue editor Anna Wintour, designer Stella McCartney and models Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss.
