The sixth episode of "Scandal" Season 3 is "Icarus." In the previous episode, it was revealed that President Fitz might have shot down a commercial airliner, near Iceland, which killed more than 300 people. One of the dead passengers was Olivia's mother.

Jack and Huck waste no time in going to Olivia's house to tell her the truth about her mother's death. Olivia and Fitz's relationship is all set to crack because of this deadly revelation. According to a sneak peek, Olivia is going to directly ask the President what is the truth as only two people can tell her that. One if her father and another is the President. She cannot ask her father because he may kill Jack, Huck and Olivia to teach them a sick lesson. The promo of "Icarus" suggests that the President feigns his ignorance and tells Olivia that he does not know what she is talking about.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tony Goldwyn said: "You can only imagine what that would be like to find out that your mother did not die in the way that you thought she died, in terms of it being a willful act. It's surreal for Olivia." Also, he said that the revelation has the potential to turn into a volatile and dangerous situation.

It is likely that more details related to Operation Remington will be revealed. We wonder what will happen if Rowan finds out that Jack, Huck and Olivia know more than they need to know about Operation Remington.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that the "Scandal" team has roped in actress Khandi Alexander to portray the role of Olivia's mother, Maya Lewis. She will have a recurring role. The actress will make her appearance in the upcoming Thursday's episode through flashbacks.

The official synopsis of "Icarus": "Olivia must make a very important decision that will affect all of her relationships in the White House, and Harrison's allegiance to the Gladiators is tested. Meanwhile, the team continues to prep Josie Marcus while Cyrus and Mellie plot against her."
