In the previous episode of "Scandal" Season 3 Episode 7, "Everything's Coming up Mellie," a couple of shocking secrets came out, including the rape of Mellie by her father-in-law. President Fitz did shoot down the commercial airliner, which killed more than 300 passengers. And, Olivia's mom is not one of the dead passengers as she is a prisoner in one of the maximum security prisons. The plane was shot down because there was a dirty bomb in it.

Also, President Fitz finally gets to know that Olivia is daughter of Rowan. Prior to that in a televised interview, the President sat beside his wife and said that "I had the affair and I damaged our marriage" and all the questions related to that should be directed at him. He also said that if they intend to attack his wife, they should deal with him first. He said that they are moving on. He supporting Mellie wasn't act and he meant each and every word. Does it mean Fitz has closed his chapter with Olivia because he cannot answer anything related to Operation Remington?

The sneak peek of the episode provides a glimpse of President Fitz calling Olivia. She can be seen ignoring his call. In the sneak peek, Olivia is watching President Fitz's interview. She does seem a little hurt.

The mystery surrounding Olivia's mom is likely to become more complex. In another sneak peek, Rowan informs Olivia's mother that they are putting her on a plane and taking her out of the country. Rowan talk makes it looks like she was one of the culprits. Mother wants to see her daughter before she leaves the country and wants Rowan to make that possible.
