"Yolo" is the ninth episode of "Scandal" Season 3. The episode is likely to deal with the return of Mom Pope in Olivia's life. In the previous episode of "Scandal," Olivia's mom escaped just before Rowan came to her hospital room to pack her out of the country. Out of the hospital and out of Rowan's watchful eyes, the first person that Mom Pope called out was her daughter.

In the sneak peek of "Yolo," one can see Olivia sitting in a corner in complete shock, unable to say a word. She is in a mess and her gladiators have all gathered at her apartment and are coming to terms with a living Mom Pope.

The sneak peek suggests that Harrison is also finding it difficult to believe that Liv's mother is alive. He can be seen asking Jack "that woman is Liv's mother, that woman is Liv's mother who died in a plane crash. ... Who has been dead for 22 years?"

Abby thinks that Jack and Huck are behind Mom Pope coming back in Liv's life, and that they have kept the truth away from them. Jack and Huck deny that they have anything to do with Mom Pope, and were unaware about her existence.

For the sake of Olivia, Abby demands to know from Mom Pope where she was all the time. According to the sneak peek, Mom Pope does not mind spilling the beans. Mom Pope tells them that she came to know about her husband's truth and what he does for a living. She was going to London to blow the whistle on the whole thing.

One can hear Mom Pope saying in the sneak peek video of "Yolo," Rowan caught her and kept her locked inside a prison under a fake name, Omar Dresden. The gladiators cannot believe that she escaped as no one escapes command. In the sneak peek, one can see them pouncing on her to check if she is wired.

Tony Goldwyn has directed "Yolo." The actor, who portrays President Fitz in "Scandal," had said to The Hollywood Reporter prior to donning the director's hat for the episode: "Directing a show that I have been a part of from the beginning is going to be a new experience."

Goldwyn was excited to work "intimately" with the star-cast of "Scandal" in a different way and had called the company "close."

"The best part will be entering the world of Olivia Pope & Associates, which Fitz is pretty much walled off from."

"As the team gets closer to the truth, loyalties are tested and relationships are pushed to the limit. Meanwhile, Cyrus has to deal with his own crisis and he realizes that he may have gone too far," according to ABC's official synopsis of "Yolo."

According to a TV Line report, "Scandal" is currently casting for a forty-year-old character called Andrew. The report describes him as "handsome and charismatic." The speculation is that he might be introduced as a potential love interest for Mellie.
