"Scandal" Season 3 wraps-up this Thursday, April 17, with an explosive episode. But, ABC has yet to announce the renewal of "Scandal" for Season 4. It is very much expected that ABC will renew it for another season, as "Scandal" has been raking in good viewership.

For last week's penultimate episode, "Scandal" topped "Grey's Anatomy" in both 18-49 (3.0 vs. 2.5) and viewers (9 mil vs 8 mil), according to Nielsen, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

Fans, who call themselves Gladiators, sent tweets to Shonda Rhimes, creator of "Scandal," asking if they need to worry about the future of their favourite T.V. show.

"Nobody should be worried. ABC has not done its pickups yet for next season. They always do them in like, early May," Rhimes replied on Tweeter, adding, "But um...clearly, you can assume good news."

Moreover, the explosive finale of season three is expected to end on multi-cliffhangers. An abrupt end to one of the popular ABC series is highly unlikely.

The Season 3 consists of only 18 episodes. ABC decided to reduce the number of episodes because of Kerry Washington's real life pregnancy.

The final episode of "Scandal" Season 3, titled "The Price of Free and Fair Election," is set to be very shocking. It will be set on the Election Day and Fitz and Sally will do everything possible to get the votes to become the President of America. The spoilers of the episode indicate that Maya Pope will succeed in her plans to detonate the bomb, which will put a lot of people's life in danger, including that of Olivia Pope.

Here is the Official Synopsis of "Scandal" Season 3 Finale: "The Price of Free and Fair Elections" - Election Day has arrived and nothing is off limits as the candidates try to capture votes. Meanwhile, Olivia tries to understand Maya's motives and Charlie makes a very surprising move."

About the Thursday night finale, Rhimes has warned that "whatever you think is gonna happen will not happen."
