‘Scandal’ season 6 episode 5 spoilers: Catfight ensues between Vanessa and Olivia
“Scandal” season 6 episode 5 will see Jake’s (Scott Foley) wife Vanessa (Jessalyn Gilsig) create a ruckus in the Washington political circle to bring her husband down. Will Olivia (Kerry Washington), who has stood by Jack’s side all this time, come to his rescue?
A battle wages between the wife and the ex in the upcoming episode of “Scandal” season 6. The promo shows the spiteful Vanessa getting way out of control. In an attempt to jeopardise Jake’s reputation, she throws at him a paper plane during a meeting. Later, she makes an appearance in public trying to look a bit harassed.
At another point, Vanessa is seen confronting Jake's ex, Olivia. She even stoops to the level of calling her names. This infuriates Olivia who then decides to retaliate. She is seen grabbing Vanessa by the collar and slamming her to the wall, saying “Keep talking!” Needless to say, a messy catfight ensues.
While viewers might have seen Jake and his wife Vanessa with a perfect marital relationship, the truth is that the two have a great deal of internal issues to work on. Vanessa might have always portrayed the image of a perfect politician’s wife, but when Jake’s race for the vice president’s post gets threatened, it is Olivia who steps in to intervene.
Vanessa has always been aware of her husband’s relationship with his ex. But now, she seems tired of having to turn a blind eye once again. She is wary of the fact that Jake is only using her to get his way through. Olivia meanwhile is overly determined to see her lover in the vice’s president’s seat. The two have come too far now to let some scorned woman destroy what had them break their bones to build.
