‘Scandal’ Spoilers Season 4: Jake Figures Out In Episode 4, Inside The Bubble That Olivia’s Father Murdered Fitz's Son And Harrison
The two major highlights of "Inside the Bubble," the episode 3 of "Scandal" Season 4, are Jake figuring out that it is Rowan who is behind the murder of Fitz's son and Harrison and Cyrus falling in Lizzie's trap. Olivia and Fitz neither met nor talked in this episode. Here is what happened in an episode that ended on an abrupt note:
Olivia goes to meet her father, Rowan. He invites her inside the house but Olivia declines the invitation, saying that she just stopped by to see him. Olivia admits to him that she feels everything is colder. Rowan asks her to come over for dinner with Jake. Jake, however, refuses to join her and her father for dinner, as Olivia is not his girlfriend.
Fitz is losing the gun control. David almost loses the gun control case but then pulls out another file from one of the boxes that Jake handed over to him. This time he uses the information in the file to tell Judge Sparks to rule in favour of gun control. The judge does that but soon afterwards, he commits suicide.
The killer cliff bride video goes viral. It shows a newlywed pushing her husband to his death from a cliff. Mellie gets occupied with this case, trying to figure out what really happened and whether the wife is guilty. She wants to meet the investigating officer of the case. Abby arranges the meeting at the White House. The officer arrives to find that senior officials of various government departments, including NASA and FBI, are attending Mellie's meeting. Mellie has taken their help to make a presentation to prove that the wife did not kill the husband. Her enthusiasm, however, does not last long. The first lady is crestfallen when the officer tells her that they have already found out that the wife is not guilty, as two witnesses came forward to tell what really happened on the cliff.
Fitz invites Abby for a drink at his office. He thanks her for helping Mellie. She asks him to call her by her right name Abby, not Gabby. For a second, Abby feels important but it does not long, as Fitz asks her about Olivia and how she is doing.
The case to fix: The daughter of Olivia's old friend, Katherine, goes missing. Katherine seeks Olivia's help to find her daughter, Kaitlyn. Olivia, Huck and Quinn work on the case and find that Kaitlyn is staying in a hotel room. Olivia informs her friend about her daughter's whereabouts. Later, Huck shows Olivia a clip in which Katherine is seen in a compromising position with Kaityn's boyfriend. Soon, Olivia gets the news that Kaityn has been murdered. She suspects that it is Katherine who murdered her daughter, to stop her from revealing the truth to her husband. Katherine tells Olivia that she did not kill her daughter. Later, the news flashes that Katherine has been arrested. Olivia sees an elevator's surveillance footage. In that, Kaityn is seen protecting herself from a man and trying to stop him from snatching a folder from her hand.
Jake gets hold of Charlie. He wants him to spill the truth about Harrison's murder. Charlie is ready to open his mouth but there is a condition attached. Jake calls Quinn, as Charlie wants to spend some alone time with her. Quinn tells Charlie that she is now stronger, toughened and more seasoned and almost chokes him. Charlie tells her that no one wants her, except him. He also talks about being alone and feeling empty. Quinn tells him that she is not like him, as she has Olive, Huck, Abby and Jake. Despite all the hard-talking, the two end up kissing.
Quinn is angry that neither Olivia nor Huck noticed that she was missing for nearly 24 hours. Huck later tells her that he will look for her the next time. This makes Quinn smile. Jake sees photographs of Tom with Jerry and he figures out that Rowan has something to do with the death of Fitz's son and Harrison. He calls Olivia to tell her that he will dine with her father.
At the dinner table, when Olivia is not present, Jake tells Rowan to get on a plane and disappear, as he does not want to see Olivia hurt. Rowan has no intention to do that and he remains his cold, unruffled self despite knowing that Jake has figured out the truth.
Michael, the sex-worker, manages to get Cyrus in the bed with him. Later he meets Lizzie and tells her that he has done his job and that Cyrus fell for him hook, line and sinker.
