The Season 3 finale of "Scandal" saw Olivia heading towards an undisclosed location in a plane arranged by her father, Rowan. She was not alone. Jake was also sitting beside her in the plane. Kerry Washington, who plays Olivia, has no clue where the plane is heading in Season 4 of "Scandal," as she has yet to read the script of the new episodes.

Kerry revealed to USA Today that she does not have a script yet and does not know if the plane is "going to Turks and Caicos or maybe it had engine trouble and is in right back in D.C." The actress said that she is unaware about where Olivia is going and "it's pretty crazy."

"You can't thrive with this material unless you're willing to embrace the unknown," Kerry said to USA Today. She called herself "type A, hyper prepared," adding that "it challenges me to surrender to these writers."

Meanwhile, Kerry has scored a nomination in the outstanding lead actress in a drama category at this year's Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition to Kerry, Dan Bucatinsky (James Novak) has won a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. James, the husband of Cyrus and the journalist, was killed by Jake in Season 3. Also, Kate Burton (Sally Langston), Joe Morton (Rowan Pope) have bagged acting nominations.

Speaking about her nomination, Kerry said to USA Today, "I am rarely speechless but I feel kind of speechless this morning. It's very surreal. I'm so excited about Joe Morton and Kate Burton."

"Scandal" is expected to return in September at a new time. On July 09, the Twitter handle of Scandal Writers shared, "#Scandal writers are back at work on season 4 today!"

The one person who would not be back at work is Columbus Short. He will not be returning to reprise his role of Harrison Wright. Harrison was the only character to figure out that it is Rowan who is the real evil man and not Mom Pope. It can be assumed that Tom, Rowan's man, pulled the trigger and killed Harrison.

Tony Goldwyn, who plays President Fitz, is set to direct one of the episodes in the upcoming season 4 of "Scandal."
