The Sport Australia Hall of Fame's vision is to preserve the history of Australian sport and to excite the next generation of Australians to achieve their potential in both sport and life and the SAHOF Scholarship and Mentoring Program is one opportunity to continue achieving this vision.

Supported by SAHOF Major Sponsor / Official Airline - Etihad Airways and Victoria University , five Scholarships will be awarded for the 2012/2013 period to young Australian athletes (under 21 as at Dec 31, 2012), providing encouragement and funding to help them reach the highest level of their sport. More importantly, Scholarship holders will enjoy unrivalled access to and personal mentoring from Sport Australia Hall of Fame Inductees - surely no greater way to inspire young sports people.

Each 12 month Scholarship, valued at over $10,000, will apply from October 1 2012 - September 30, 2013 and will consist of;

  • Personal Mentoring by a SAHOF Inductee
  • $5,000 cash sporting grant presented at the prestigious SAHOF Annual Induction & Awards Dinner - 11th October, Crown Palladium, Melbourne (including travel and accommodation costs)
  • Etihad Airways flight - 1 return economy flight within the Etihad Airways network.
  • Scholarship Recognition Certificate
  • Invitation to exclusive SAHOF events

CLOSING DATE - 5PM WEDNESDAY 1ST AUGUST, 2012

Since 2006, 42 young Australian athletes have been assisted through SAHOF Scholarship and Mentoring Program, and have been privileged to be mentored by such Australian sporting legends as; Catherine Freeman Susie O'Neill, Rechelle Hawkes, David Parkin, Robert de Castella, , Bruce McAvaney Nick Farr-Jones, Andrew Gaze and SAHOF Chairman, John Bertrand.

Past scholarship holders who have benefited greatly from the Program, many of whom will make their mark on the world stage at this year's Olympic & Paralympic Games in London include;
