The Script Performs On 'The X Factor' Even If Member Danny O'Donoghue Dissed The Show For 'Making Fools Of People'
Danny O'Donoghue of the The Script is accused of being a sellout after performing on "The X Factor" UK. This, after he told everyone last year that the show is "making fools of people."
Daily Star UK reports "The Script" band offered the "The X Factor" audience a performance they would never forget on the latest episode of the show. They sang their new single, "No Good in Goodbye." Before the show, Danny was repeatedly using his Twitter account to plug the show and urging fans to tune in so they could catch the band's performance.
However, it was not a long time ago when Danny himself was bashing and dissing the show, claiming "The Voice" is a better musical talent search. According to Danny last year, the show is "making fools of people" for entertainment and ratings' sake. He was a mentor of "the Voice" up until last year when he left. He threw shade at "The X Factor" by saying to the Metro, "We don't make fools of people. The X Factor shows more of the acts we're supposed to laugh at than acts with genuine talent. I watched some of the last series of The X Factor but I had to turn off when they were laughing at this dude."
Danny said it could be degrading for a person to be booed by thousands of people and to watch it has a "cringe factor." He also said that in "The Voice," duds are not accepted into the roster of qualified contestants based on their image. Still, some might think he has forgotten all these when their band went onstage to perform.
Danny was not the first to swallow their words when it comes to the "The XcFactor." Jessie J also claims the show condones or practices "bullying," but she also performed on it. She told Sun she turned out a chance to be a judge on the show because it involves bullying. She was a mentor on "The Voice" for two seasons before leaving and having Kylie Minogue replace her. Her performance on the show even earned a proposal from One Direction member Niall Horan.
