Season 4 ‘American Horror Story-Freak Show’ Update: Introduction Of Twisty The Clown Is ‘Brutal’ [VIDEO]
"American Horror Story-Freak Show," the season 4 of FX's horror anthology series, is set to feature several freaky characters, with different shades. The one character to watch out for is the most terrifying antagonist, Twisty the Clown. The writers have shaped this murderous character as the most terrifying clown of all time.
Twisty the Clown will be seen wearing a mask that covers the lower side of his face, and what the mask hides is not for the weak-hearted to see. John Carroll Lynch has been roped in to portray Twisty the Clown. In an interview with Buzzfeed News, Ryan Murphy, co-creator of "American Horror Story," said: "We said in the writer's room that if we were going to do clowns, we were going to create the most terrifying clown of all time."
Murphy is worried about viewers' reaction, as he thinks that people are going to suffer cardiac arrests because of the most terrifying clown. "It's heart-stopping what he does," Murphy said to Buzzfeed. Murphy has directed the first episode of the upcoming season.
Murphy said that Twisty the Clown's introduction is "brutal" and that he, too, was terrified after seeing his introduction. "Two crew members told me they have had nightmares about this clown since we started shooting and they're not even scared of clowns," Murphy said to Buzzfeed.
The arrival of Elsa Mars and her troupe of performers to the town will make Twisty the Clown angry and he will target them, trying everything possible to make their lives a living hell. Speaking about his character, Lynch said to Buzzfeed, "His actions are horrific, but his motives are really strangely, oddly pure."
Meanwhile, Sarah Paulson, who is playing the conjoined twins with two heads, has said that her character might be responsible for dark things. Her characters Dot and Bette are going to be the star attraction of Elsa Mars' run freaky circus show. Speaking about whether her characters will deal with Twisty the Clown, Paulson said to Entertainment Weekly, "I think he's watching us. But as of right now there's no story there with that character."
"American Horror Story-Freak Show" is scheduled to air on Oct. 08.
