SEE Cory Monteith's Emmy Tribute: Jane Lynch Calls 'Glee' Star a 'Beautiful Soul' [PHOTOS and VIDEO]
Cory Monteith's Emmy tribute is surrounded by controversy ever since the Emmy's were announced but "Glee's" Jane Lynch gave a wonderful emotional speech dedicated to the late star, calling him a "beautiful soul" at the Sunday's 65th annual Primetime Emmys ceremony.
"This summer on our show Glee we suffered a painful death in our family," Lynch said adding that Cory had that sweetness and a star quality to him, which is irreplaceable.
"From the first time you saw Cory, he had a star quality and genuine sweetness that made it impossible not to fall in love with him. And millions did fall in love with Cory ... and I'm here to say that all that warmth and that charm and that open-hearted quality that we loved in Cory was no act," the actress said.
Lynch said that though Cory was not perfect but many of us could relate to him and that is what matters the most.

"Cory was a beautiful soul. He was not perfect, which many of us here tonight can relate to. His death is a tragic reminder of the rapacious, senseless destruction that is brought on by addiction," Lynch added.
The emotional actress remembered the "Glee" stars "firsthand Cory's goofy, breezy sense of humor" and said the "Glee" cast was lucky to know him.
"Tonight we remember Cory for all he was and mourn the loss of all he could have been. To a generation that loved Cory so, please know this gifted and wonderful young man was worthy of your love. And if you were lucky enough to know Cory as we did, and witness firsthand Cory's goofy, breezy sense of humor, his natural instinct for inclusiveness and his unbridled sense of generosity day in and day out, I promise you have loved him even more."
Earlier this week, Emmys executive producer Ken Ehrlich called the decision to include 31-year-old Monteith a "personal choice." Adam Klugman, the son of late actor Jack Klugman, said he doesn't believe Glee actor Cory Monteith should be singled out from this tonight's Emmy "In Memoriam" reel.
According to Andrew Wallenstein, editor -in-chief of Variety, the popular Hollywood trade newspaper, Monteith has failed to receive any Emmy nomination prior to his death in July and he says that one can never compare the work of the Glee star to that of Gandolfini.
The controversy that surrounded the tribute was almost forgotten and Twitter reacted positively to it. "I think Jane Lynch did a really nice job. After the controversy about whether Cory should be included... it hit just the right notes #Emmys," said Katie Couric on Twitter.
