What's a tattoo that takes 7-8 months to complete and a total of 15 hours sitting to finish it? Well that's called a Cole-tattoo.
The former Girls Aloud singer has chosen her bottom to be the perfect place for an English-rose themed tattoo that covers her entire backside and races up towards her mid back too. See picture.
The 30-yar-old showed the first glimpse of the tattoo to her fans at the Girls Aloud's reunion tour in February. But at that time the tattoo was in its initial stage. The full and final version of this unique tattoo was revealed by the tattoo artist Nikko Hurtado who posted an image online of the artwork on his Instagram account.
He posted: "Here is a in progress shot of a Tattoo I've been covering up and reworking. Really exited to show healed shots. It was some intense tattooing sessions. She's tough as nails."
To get your back covered in a full-blown tattoo is not easy and we are sure Cheryl must have underwent a lot of pain during this process. But does she have any particular reason for doing so?
"I have personal meaning behind it but English roses are my favourite flowers."
"Nikko is the most amazing artist. It took 15 hours and was really painful. There's no particular reason I had it done. I just wanted to and I liked the design," the singer told Digital Spy in February.
However there was huge criticism on Twitter for this fully covered tattoo and many went to the extent of calling it "ugly."
Cole was quick to defend her decision and hit back at her critics on Twitter by saying that she is entitled to do what she wants. "People are entitled to their own opinion. Personally I've never really concerned myself with other people's body parts! I've had it for maybe 7-8 months; it was a long process but only just detailed it."
Cole is completely satisfied that she is in good hands and expressed her confidence for the tattoo artist by calling him a genius. "The guy is a genius, a true artist and he helped me to cope a lot because I felt like I was in very safe hands."
So what do you think of Chery's bum-tattoo? Hit or Miss?
