Lady Gaga was most talked about celebrity (along with Miley Cyrus of course) at the MTV Video Music Awards 2013 on Sunday. She belted out a applaud-able (all puns intended) performance on her latest single "Applause" but what was even more in news was her shell-shaped bikini thong which left little for the viewers imaginations.

And that little which was left of Lady Gaga for us to see was covered by celebrity photographer Terry Richardson backstage while Gaga prepared for her performance for MTV. Richardson revealed the racy photographs on his Web site (terryrichardon.com) and his Tumblr page too.

He is the same photographer who earlier shot Miley Cyrus' crotch grabbing, ass-showing pictures some time back. The pictures show Miley doing a headstand in a pair of black shorts and also showing her tongue.

The recent Lady Gaga photographs show her backstage with her bum covered in gold dust. Was gold dust applied to Gaga's bum to make it look fuller and flawless for the thong she wore at the VMA's?

Other pictures show a naked Gaga stretching her body topless near a rack of clothes. Gaga is also seen with her mother in one of the pictures where she is appropriately dressed. Other shots show Gaga lying down on her front and getting a shoulder massage while the singer is seen in nothing but a tiny-weeny thong.

Most other photographs show Gaga rehearsing for her upcoming act wearing the white cardboard box on her face and adjusting her nose pin. Her makeup artists seem to be working on her face in other pictures.

The singer garnered good reviews for her MTV performance on her single "Applause" from her upcoming album "Artpop." Her wild performance was compared to her rival Katy Perry's "roaring" performance on her single "Roar" from her album "Prism."

Both the artists were forced to release their singles earlier than the desired date of release owing to the songs being leaked online. While Lady Gaga was much in news for her weird acts in the music video of "Applause" it was Katy Perry's "Roar" that topped the charts.
