Selena Gomez is one of the latest recipients of Katy Perry's words of wisdom, particularly on dating.

The 21-year-old singer graces the cover of Seventeen magazine's girl power-themed March issue, and sits down with the magazine staff about her concerns on scaring men away because of her strong personality and consulting the "Teenage Dream" singer on the matter.

"I do think I might scare some guys, because I'm like, 'I want to change the world! I have dreams! What do you want to do?' But I only know how to be me," she says.

Selena also recounts how her career turned out over the years, from Disney's "underdog" to a more "powerful" self this year.

"I turned 20, went through a really bad breakup, and realized I needed to have 'Come & Get It' be amazing," Selena recounts. "I wanted it all to be me. I'm glad it's taken me this long to get where I am because now I am ready for it."

Selena looks radiant and stunning in the cover shoot where she wore custom crop shirts by Elizabeth and James with words such as "Respect," "Loyal" and "Power."

In the same interview, Selena gives a shout-out to her fans who pull out all stops just to see her onstage, which for her is the greatest thing in the world.

"I don't feel like I can do enough for my fans."

Finally, she brings up the supposed feud between her and Lorde, who previously expressed her disapproval of the former's song "Come and Get Me."

"I recently did an interview and they asked me who I thought was up-and-coming and making a difference. I said, 'She doesn't like me, but Lorde.'"

Selena also hopes to see the young singer someday, probably like Taylor Swift did when she hung out with the Kiwi singer during her concert tour in Australia. Like Selena, Lorde also previously dissed the pop-country singer for being "too perfect."

"Some day I will see her and we'll be cool," she says last.
