Selena Gomez shifts from the stage to the streets to start in the new action movie "Getaway." This time she will not be playing the damsel in distress rather a car thief. Gomez will start alongside Ethan Hawke and the Ford Shelby GT500.

Car movies have been some of the biggest winners in the box office throughout the years. With Fast and the Furious 6 blowing up box office records and the hype about the new Transformers movie, Getaway is joining in. The car movie industry offers great potential and Selena Gomez and Ethan Hawke are well on their way.

Getaway will be featuring the Ford Shelby GT500. The initial trailer has been released. The movie will be in theaters on August 30.

Hawke is the protagonist in the movie. The plot revolves his life as a former race car driver. Hawke is forced in a situation where he must his car, a generation-old Shelby GT500 Super Snake, to save his wife. Hawke's character modified car and which will also be one of the important elements of the movie.

The third co-stat in the film is Selena. Her character is the owner of the Shelby. While it seems far-fetched for a 20-year old to own a Shelby in Europe, the verdict for the movie won't until mid August. Many people feel the movie is similar to Charlie Sheen's 1994 The Chase.

All judgments on Justin Bieber's ex are on hold until the movie finally comes out.

The Shelby GT500 is not a stranger to a starring role. This Mustang leader was already spotted in 2008 with NBC's Knight Rider. The car was not successful on its first gig as the show did not last long. Fingers are crossed on this new movie.
