Selena Gomez fails to scare Jimmy Fallon with live ghost app demonstration
Selena Gomez tried but failed to convince Jimmy Fallon that ghosts reside on the set of his “The Tonight Show.” In an attempt to scare the show host about ghosts, the singer used her mobile app that can reportedly detect the presence of supernatural creatures in any environment.
Gomez did a live demonstration of her ghost app while on the show on Wednesday. The 23-year old told Fallon that she believes ghosts can tap into technology, so she made sure to equip herself with an app that can detect ghosts. [Scroll down for the video]
“This is going to scare me. This is an old studio, it's been around a long time," Fallon said as Gomez brought out her phone.
The singer then pressed a button on her app to start searching through the studio for roaming ghosts. While Fallon tried to make a joke out of the situation, the app gave a notification sound, which Gomez said means it has detected a ghost. Another “ding” sound was heard, and then a male voice from the ghost app said, “children.”
“It just said children in a weird voice like a Nightrider voice. Is it David Hasselhoff?” Fallon jokingly said, and then he picked up Gomez' phone from the table to try to talk to the app.
“You can’t force it. It’s ‘gonna happen on its own,” Gomez told a panic-looking Fallon.
Fallon jokingly mimicked the voice and told Gomez that her ghost app doesn’t work. The “Good For You” singer argued otherwise and told the host about the time that the app suddenly mentioned the names of her relatives.
“Look I was in a venue and it actually said people in my life by name," she told the 41-year-old host.
Fallon continued to tease the actress regarding her defence of her ghost app. “You know what, you’re actually upsetting the spirits. They’re mad at you,” Gomez told Fallon as he continued to make fun of her ghost-detecting app.
Meanwhile, aside from Gomez, Ariana Grande also shared her personal “demon” experience during an interview with Complex magazine. The singer recalled smelling sulphur and seeing a fly in the car when she and some friends went to visit Stull Cemetery. She reportedly took a photo and saw “three faces of textbook demons” in the picture.
