Selena Gomez Says Her Haters Are Mostly Adults, 'It's Baffling!'
Selena Gomez, a budding teen star had her fair share of bullies and haters, especially with her on-off relationship with young and controversial singer, Justin Bieber. However, according to the former Disney Star, majority of her bullies and haters are adults, and not the young adults who grew up watching her in "Wizards of Waverly Place," and listened to her when she became a singer as well. This, in all honesty she says, stuns her.
According to E! Online, Selena knows her haters are adults, and she does not get it because they are supposed to know better than to be bullies. Moreover, she thinks they should know more how it is to be young, because they went through the same phase. She said that adults were quick to assume things she did even though they don't really know.
"I get picked on by grown adults all the time," the young actress, 22, said as she promotes "Rudderless," her new indie movie. "It's grown-ups and I don't get it. It just baffles me. I wish I could just sit them down and say, 'What were you doing at 15? What were you doing at 18? What were you doing at 21?' Because I can guarantee you it's not half of what I've done."
And while she's all smiles all the time, she said that sometimes adults' comments can get to her skin and she had to try hard not to let them take her down and let them win.
Moreover, because a lot of backlash and disses takes place through her Twitter and Instagram account, it would not be surprising if she leaves all these social media networks and live her life in peace. Selena shared that she cannot do that just yet.
"Maybe when I'm older, but I think right now I want to be that person for those girls and for my fans," said the budding actress and singer. "It's nice to be able to connect with my fans. I'm a part of it. I'm totally involved," she detailed.
It has been a while since Selena's acting chops have been seen. Fans who miss her can catch her on "Rudderless," which would be in theaters and on VOD on October 17.
