Things are going great for Selena Gomez this week. Late yesterday, Gomez won big at the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards and now Selena has topped off awesome sales for her latest film, "Spring Breakers." Things are definitely going smoothly for the former Disney princess who had even managed to beat Lindsay Lohan's movie that also came out this week.

Two Disney alumni released their films at the box office this weekend. However, only one made a successful win at the box office and it was none other than Gomez's' R-rated film, "Spring Breakers." Selena Gomez joined by Vanessa Hudgens crashed into the top 10 in the films' debut. As for Lindsay Lohan, her film "InAPPropriate Comedy" did not even make it into the cut.

According to box office analyst of Hollywood.com, Paul Dergarabedian, "Spring Breakers" $5 million weekend score was "pretty-darn impressive." For a film directed by renowned cult filmmaker, Harmony Korine, $5 million isn't even a biggie.

"I think the marketing has been solid for the film," said Dergarabedian, adding, "Effectively working the bikinis and guns imagery has definitely had a positive effect on the box office."

The bikinis, boob shots and the beaches had a lot to offer for fans but of course Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens in the mix rolled in more interest and cash for "Spring Breakers."

"Oh, and of course having Vanessa Hudgens [and] Selena Gomez in the mix certainly raised awareness among their fanbases, and help[ed] boost the numbers," explained Paul.

While "Spring Breakers" did well at the weekend box office, Lohan's film "InAPPropriate Comedy" didn't do so well. As a matter of fact, Lohan's comeback films have not been doing great as of late. For the R-rated film, Lohan only managed to rack in $531 from 292 theatres summing it up to a mere $155,000 bucks.

If Lohan wishes to save her career, maybe teaming up with current Hollywood "It" Girl, Selena Gomez would do the trick. For one, Gomez is doing great despite her awful breakup from beau of three years, Justin Bieber.

For those deciding which film to watch this weekend, choose Selena Gomez's "Spring Breakers" than opting for Lohan's "InAPPropriate Comedy" because the numbers clearly tell which one is worth the money.
