‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ onscreen adaptation expected to have changes under Lemony Snicket’s scriptwriting
“A Series of Unfortunate Events” is coming out soon, and fans of the book series are highly anticipating on how the show will come about. Based on the book series by Lemony Snicket, US Netflix has confirmed to deliver another original story to its viewers.
“A Series of Unfortunate Events” is adapted from book series with the same title. It was written by Daniel Handler who goes by the alias Lemony Snicket. Handler will reportedly serve as the scriptwriter for the show. To this, fans speculate the TV adaptation to uncover more mysteries of the show like the case of the sugar bowl. The upcoming Netflix series is also expected to clear more of the few open-ended plots from the book. “A Series of Unfortunate Events” confirmed casting
The gothic mystery fiction originated from a 13-book series that narrate the lives of Baudelaire orphans, Klaus, Sunny and Violet. Notably, this isn’t the first onscreen adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s tale. In 2004, it was turned into a movie starring Jim Carrey as Count Olaf, one of the main characters. Klaus was portrayed by Liam Aiken, Sunny was delivered by Kara Hoffman, and Violet was played by Emily Browning. Meanwhile, narrator Lemony Snicket was voiced by Jude Law.
On the upcoming Netflix adaptation, some of the characters are already filled in by highly anticipated cast. “How I Met Your Mother” star Neil Patrick Harris is confirmed to play the wicked Count Olaf. Klaus will be played by newcomer Louis Hynes, Violet will be portrayed by Malina Weissman from “Supergirl,” and narrator Lemony Snicket will be delivered by Patrick Warburton. Sunny Baudelaire’s casting is yet to be confirmed. Aasif Mandvi, K. Todd Freeman, John DeSantis and Usman Ally are also among the announced cast of the show.

"A Series Of Unfortunate Events" will debut its first episode on US Netflix in 2017, comprising of eight episodes. The first eight episodes will bring the first four books of Lemony Snicket to life, starting with “The Bad Beginning” and ending with “The Austere Academy.”
“A Series of Unfortunate Events” revolves around the Baudelaire orphans who are relentlessly pursued by the greedy Count Olaf who wants to steal Baudelaire’s family fortune. As the series follow through the journey of the orphans, the story expands further with sinister organisations surfacing in the story and more. Eventually, the question of what constitutes good and evil is on its way to being discovered.
