'Sexiest doctor alive' auctions himself for an all expenses paid date
Dr Mikhail Varshavski, named by People Magazine as the “Sexiest doctor alive,” may just be the male poster boy for being confidently beautiful with a heart.
The 26-year-old doctor, touted by his fans as the “real-life McDreamy,” is using his popularity for a worthy cause by allowing people to bid for a free dream date in the name of charity. One lucky person would win a trip to New York City, a stay in a 4-star hotel and a dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Proceeds of the auction will go to a charity called The Limitless Tomorrow Foundation. The charity, established by Varshavski in 2015, aims to help selected students struggling with financial hardships to reach their unique goals.
On its first week, the auction raised nearly US$25,000 (AU$36,355), reports Doctor Mike in his Instagram account. For as little as US$10 (AU$14.50) donation, an individual can already enter the contest, which is open internationally.
The contest closes on Jan. 27, according to Varshavski. “I’m incredibly excited to see who will be my date,” he wrote. “Let’s raise money for an amazing cause and have some fun in the process.”
For the contest, Varshavski has partnered with Coffee Meets Bagel, a free dating app for those looking for relationships.
Varshavski, a second-year family medicine resident at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey, rose to fame in 2015 with People Magazine’s citation. Three years ago, Varshavski, better known as Doctor Mike, started to become active in various social media platforms, especially Instagram. Late last year, he has reached over one million followers in his Instagram account. Varshavski is described as an entrepreneur and philantrophist. He also refers to himself as an avid explorer of life.
Varshavski’s search for a date has went viral on Instagram and Twitter, with his followers gushing over the prospect of a dreamy date with the good doctor himself.
