"Shadowhunters," starring Alberto Rosende as Simon Lewis, Dominic Sherwood as Jonathan Christopher "Jace" Wayland, Katherine McNamara as Clarissa "Clary" Fairchild, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood and Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway, will have an upcoming episode titled "Beside Still Water," which airs in the US on Aug. 14. It will feature Izzy and Alec fighting a horde of demons that will show up unexpectedly.

A press release from Freeform states that "Shadowhunters" season 2, episode 20 will show Alec and Izzy teaming up against a mass of demons that surprisingly show up to attack them. Meanwhile, Clary and Jace will be shocked to find out the identity of a traitor. When they discover who betrayed them, they must prepare for a bigger fight than they anticipated. As for Simon and Luke, they must meet up with the Seelie Queen (Sarah Hyland) to settle some unfinished business. Matt Hastings directed "Beside Still Water," which was written by Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin.

A preview video of the episode was posted on Twitter. It shows the angels preparing for a war against what they call the half-breeds, and these include the warlocks, vampires, seelies, werewolves and even Shadowhunters who are human-angel hybrids.

'Beside Still Water' guest stars

According to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), Carson Manning as an Irish Priest, Tara Westwood as a random woman and Will Tudor as Lucifer / Jonathan Morgenstern / Sebastian Verlac, will be the guest stars in this episode. They will be joined by other members of the "Shadowhunters" cast such as Harry Shum Jr as Magnus Bane and Alisha Wainwright as Maia Roberts.

'Shadowhunters' episodes: 'Hail and Farewell'

The episode prior to the "Shadowhunters" summer finale episode "Beside Still Water" was "Hail and Farewell," which aired on Aug. 7 in the US. It was directed by Matt Hastings and written by Bryan Q. Miller. It showed the Downworlders teaming up to take a stand against The Clave. However, this move threatened a brewing war between the Shadowhunters and the Downworlders. Elsewhere, the hunt for Sebastian and Valentine (Alan van Sprang) intensified.

"Shadowhunters 2" airs in Australia on Netflix. The show airs on Freeform in the US every Monday at 8 pm ET/PT. Stay tuned for more updates about the TV series based on Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments" book series.
