The Australian sharemarket opens lower after the U.S. sharemarkets eased on Monday.

On the Sydney Futures Exchange this morning, the December share price index futures contract was 18 points lower at 4686 points.

Monday's trading saw the benchmark S&P/ASX200 Index went up 73.5 points (1.6 percent) to 4675.4, and the broader All Ordinaries Index also gained 70.7 points (1.52 percent) to 4722.2. On the Sydney Futures Exchange, the December share price index futures contract jumped 84 points to 4704. A total of 29,695 contracts were traded.

BHP Billiton Limited (ASX: BHP) struck it high with 62 cents at $39.66
Rio Tinto Limited (ASX: RIO) gained with $1.55 cents to settle at $77.15

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX: ANZ) increased by 60 cents at $24.20
Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX: CBA) went high with $1.04 at $52.86
National Australia Bank Limited (ASX: NAB) soared with 45 cents at $26.00
Westpac Banking Corporation went up 46 cents at $23.95

AMP Limited (ASX: AMP) climbed eight cents at $5.17
