Sharemarket opens higher
The Australian sharemarket opens higher today.
On the Sydney Futures Exchange this morning, the December share price index futures contract was 17 points higher at 4715 points.
Tuesday's trading saw the benchmark S&P/ASX200 Index went down 5.6 points (1.2 percent) to 4669.8, and the broader All Ordinaries Index dropped 5.2 points (1.1 percent) to 4717.
BHP Billiton Limited (ASX: BHP) dropped with 23 cents at $39.43
Rio Tinto Limited (ASX: RIO) also went down 15 cents to settle at $77
Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX: ANZ) added 12 cents at $24.32
Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX: CBA) lost 26 cents at $52.60
National Australia Bank Limited (ASX: NAB) increased 14 cents more at $26.14
Westpac Banking Corporation went up seven cents at $24.02
AMP Limited (ASX: AMP) climbed six cents at $5.23
Insurance Australia Group Limited (ASX: IAG) decreased one cent at $3.72
QBE Insurance Group Limited (ASX: QBE) slipped by 10 cents at $17.55
David Jones Limited (ASX: DJS) dipped two cents to settle at $4.98
Harvey Norman Holdings Limited (ASX: HVN) also decreased by four cents at $3.82
Wesfarmers Limited (ASX: WES) slumped 53 cents at $34.20
Woolworths Limited lost 33 cents at $29.70
Toll Holdings Limited (ASX: TOL) dropped eight cents at $6.55
Qantas Airways Limited (ASX: QAN) rose three cents at $2.75
