BBC has yet to announce the premiere date of "Sherlock" Season 3. There are speculations that the much anticipated season of "Sherlock" might premiere on January 01, 2013 as the second season also premiered on January 01.

In the opening scene of "Sherlock" Season 2 Episode 3, "The Reichenbach Fall," Watson says: "... my best friend Sherlock Holmes is dead." Towards the end of the episode, Sherlock says goodbye to Watson and jumps down to his death from the roof of St Bartholomew Hospital. He does that to save his dear ones, including Watson. If he had not jumped down, Prof. Moriarty's assassins would have shot them dead.

In the closing scene of "Sherlock" Season 2 finale, Watson is at the grave of Sherlock Holmes. He says, "one more miracle for me, don't be dead. Just for me. Just stop it. Just ..." The miracle does happen as a sombre looking Sherlock watches Watson walking away from the graveyard.

The creators of "Sherlock" have assured that there is no black magic involved and there is a rational explanation to how Sherlock faked his death. Martin Freeman, who plays Dr John Watson, said to Radio Times that all the clues related to how Sherlock survived were on the screen. In the episode, Watson was unable to clearly see the face of the dead Sherlock Holmes as he was dizzy and had fainted. He had hurt his head after a biker had hit him while he was running towards the body of Sherlock. Watson was not is his senses to confirm whether his best friend was really dead or not.

Freeman had said to Radio Times: "It's not going to be a cheat - everything that we saw on that final episode offers hints as to how he did it."

At the Comic-Con, Benedict Cumberbatch, who portrays Sherlock, explained how his character faked his death. In a pre-taped video, he gave a demonstration on how he survived and said, "Here is the ledge of the building (the hand of Cumberbatch) and here is Sherlock (a monkey bunny atop the ledge) ... there is this big helicopter thing ... cup of tea dear ... that is basically how that happened ..."

The guy on the bike is the key to resolving the mystery. There are some theories floating on the net that the guy on the bike must be Sherlock. The dead body might of Prof. Moriarty, wearing the mask of Sherlock. We did see the report of Sherlock's death but there was no mention of Prof. Moriarty's death.

On Reddit during a webchat, Cumberbatch said "Have you seen the winged suits on YouTube? I told you I was into skydiving. How many more clues do you need people?"

The actor for sure has some of the most bizarre theories to tell on how his character cheated death. Tells us, how did Sherlock survive?
