Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Rules the Box Office [VIDEO]
"Oh how I've missed you Holmes," says Watson, played by Jude Law in the sequel to "Sherlock Holmes." Yet, it seems with the current rank of "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows'" at the box office, Dr. Watson isn't the only one to have missed having the hilarious and psychotic detective back on board.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, the sequel takes off where "Sherlock Holmes" ended but this time it's got a whole new story line, stunts, interesting riddles and slow-motion fight scenes. Back to play the beloved demented detective, Sherlock Holmes, is Robert Downey Jr. and he's on the trail of equally cunning and intelligent, Professor James Moriarty. From random bombing events, Holmes manages to uncover the real conspiracy behind them and the sadistic mind who's leading the plot.
Though Professor Moriarty is always one step ahead of Holmes, the detective has a few weapons and cunning ideas up his sleeve. Along for the ride is his faithful sidekick and not-to-mention dapper-looking, Jude Law, as Dr. John Watson. Rather than enjoying his honeymoon with his wife, Mary Morstan, played by Kelly Reilly, Watson is again pulled into twists and turns of uncovering Moriarty's sinister plots. Joining them for the ride is Madam Simza Heron, a gypsy played by Noomi Rapace.
Hilarity ensues when Holmes' brother is introduced at Watson's stag party until Mary gets thrown off a moving train. Watson's sarcasm and even his own wife's sense of humor will definitely get people laughing their heads off while Holmes' fight scenes will make the audience simply crave for more.
The sequel is most definitely a big hit as it stays on the top rank for the third week. "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" has now made as much as $440 million dollars worldwide. Though it's still set to open in the big screen at France by Thursday, which will probably mean Holmes might be staying at the number one spot for a week or more.
Fans of death-defying stunts, mind-boggling puzzles and easy laughs should add "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" into their bucket movie list. Take a look at the trailer below but be forewarned because the trailer alone is not enough to satiate the hunger for more.
