After much anticipation and speculation, BBC has announced that "Sherlock" season 3 will begin from Jan. 19 at 10 PM in US. The special screening of episode 1 "The Empty Hearse" will be screened at an event at London's British Film Institute on Dec.15 at 1 PM which will be followed by Q&A round with the cast and crew of the TV show. 1. Benedict Cumberbatch reveals how "Sherlock" survived "The Fall"
The last episode of "Sherlock" season 2 ended with a cliff hanger where Sherlock appeared to have jumped to his death from the roof of St. Bart's Hospital. Since then fans of the show have had just one question on their mind and that is how Sherlock survived the fall?
Benedict Cumberbatch has recently revealed the biggest hint to the mystery. "Have you seen the winged suits on YouTube?? I told you I was into skydiving. How many more clues do you need people?" revealed Benedict Cumberbatch during web chat on Reddit.
It seems as if the star is hinting that a parachute or some flying suit helped him to survive or fake his death.
Also, actor Martin Freeman revealed that Sherlock has not cheated his death and his survival won't involve any sci-fi trickery all the clues can be found on the screen.
But let's wait to have an elaborate answer on our question in the show.
2. "Sherlock" season 3 like any other season will have three episodes: Episode 1 "The Empty Hearse," based on "The Adventure of the Empty House," episode 2 "The Sign of Three" which is based on author of the original story Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "The Sign of Four" and episode 3 "His Last Vow," which is also based on the original chapter from the book "His Last Bow."
3. Fans can expect lots of drama with action and adventure on "Sherlock" season 3 as Watson is married to a journalist Mary Morstan. Amanda Abbington the actress playing Mary discloses that she will be getting in between the relationship of the detective duo and will become like a third wheel in their story. Also, Mark Gatiss has revealed "Sherlock" season 3 will focus on John and Sherlock's relationship and how his marriage changes their friendship.
4. We also know that there is a new villain Charles Augustus Magnussen played by Dutch actor Lars Mikkelson. The character is inspired by the original character of the story Charles Augustus Milverton. Not much has been revealed about the villain all we need to do is wait for it to be introduced on screen.
5. As per the spoilers on the internet "Sherlock" season 3 will follow the events two years after season 2's ending. Also, Rebecca Eaton while talking to "Entertainment Weekly" revealed that we can expect "jaw dropping" episodes which will be like "small movies" and "best as yet." The three words that hint at the content of Sherlock season 3 as announced by creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat are "rat, wedding and bow."
