BBC's "Sherlock" is definitely a popular TV series with its Season 3 a much awaited show for the New Year.

Speculations about Sherlock Holmes' death have been making rounds for a long time now. But the new teaser trailer confirms that the genius detective is alive. Sherlock Season 3 Spoilers: New Teaser Trailer, Confirms Holmes Is Alive

In the previous episode of Sherlock Season 2, Holmes was seen jumping to his death from the roof of St. Bart's Hospital. After the deadly jump, some believed that Holmes was dead and he has just faked his death with yet another genius act of his. Even his confederate John Watson presumed he was dead.

The mystery behind Sherlock's jumping off the roof would soon be unveiled, but in Sherlock Season 3 episodes.

But here is good news for "Sherlock" fans and Dr. Watson that the detective is alive. Thus, Benedict Cumberbatch will be resuming his role as Sherlock Holmes alongside John Watson played by Matin Freeman.

"It's been a long time since Sherlock Holmes jumped off that roof. It's time to reveal the truth about what happened between him and the pavement," Steven Moffat, the creator of the show, said.

Sherlock Season 3 Spoilers-Will Moriarty Return?

Moriarty, the archenemy of Holmes from the last season, has also been a subject of speculation. His return is one of the most anticipated one by the fans.

The recent interview of Andrew Scott who played Moriarty in BBC's "Sherlock" became a hot topic for several reasons. His admission about being a gay while condemning Russia's anti-gay policies became the highlight of the interview. (Click HERE to read more about it.)

Few more topics that caught much of media attention were his new role in "Legacy" and his role as Moriarty. While talking about all these subjects, he was asked by the interviewer one question regarding "Sherlock."

"Is there any chance that Moriarty will, like his nemesis, be making a Lazarus-like comeback in the new series of Sherlock?"

"People ask me that every day. It's a small price to pay for having been in such a wonderful show," Andrew Scott said.

He seemed forbidden from giving any answers to such topics. Even if his return is not certain, the chances of his coming back can't be completely denied.
