With an upcoming album and 21 years in the music industry, New Zealand band Shihad will perform two albums in full.
The band will perform their albums Killjoy and The General Electric in August this year. Both will be played by the boys in black in two shows for their fans to be held in Melbourne and Sydney only.
Killjoy was released in 1995 and is Shihad's second album. It is known to be one of the best "metal" albums, getting the attention of Metallica and Faith No More. Meanwhile, The General Electric, produced by Red Hot Chilli Pepper's Garth Richardson, was released in 1999 and is considered to be the band's breakthrough album, selling over 30,000 copies. It brought the the band to the mainstream radio.
In 1996, Shihad released their self-titled album. It was considered "experimental" because the band tried to infuse a little more pop craft on their music while they were experimenting with the limitations of "metal". It includes the tracks Your Head Is A Rock, Leo's Song, Ghost From The Past, Hate Boys and Home Again. Some say it is their bridging album and is the most interesting in their catalogue.
