Should Brian McFadden Simply Have Paid $110 Boarding Pass Printing Charges Instead of Picking Fights with Ryanair?
Former 'Australian Idol' guest judge, Brian McFadden has been receiving mixed reactions for picking fights with budget airline, Ryanair after he was charged $110 for printing his boarding pass.
The Irish singer took to Twitter and ranted on the hundred-dollar printing fee which came a surprise to him when informed of the policy for passengers who failed to bring their own printed copy.
"Had so much I wanted to say about my ryanair experience today but ill keep it simple. MICHAEL O LEARY you’re a scumbag who exploits hard working people and tricks them out of their money with your ridiculous loop holes. you are stealing from your own people!" Brian tweeted according to news.com.au.
O Leary, noted the news online is the Chief Executive Officer of Ryanair and considered as one of Ireland’s wealthiest businessmen. Out of discontent, Brian decided not to board the plane and took the train to catch another flight from another airline. He was with his girlfriend, Vogue Williams at the Sydney Airport when the incident happened.
"So instead I got the train from Liverpool London to fly with an honest airline. cost more in the end but it’s the principle of it," McFadden added.
His Twitter rants however was met with a hint of ‘sarcasm’ from the budget airline.
An official of Ryanair talked to the Daily Mail and raised how Brian failed to print his own boarding pass to avoid the printing charges.
"We’re surprised that Mr McFadden, having agreed to print his boarding card, couldn’t manage this super-complex task, which is accomplished daily by over 80m passengers annually," Robin Kiely of Ryanair was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
Fellow passengers replied to Brian’s tweets and shared their own experiences, underscoring that they have been on the same boat as the singer
Michelle Murphy: "They send the passes to your home with the wrong name nad (sic) charge u 100 quid to change it! Conning (sic) Jokers."
Rebecca Jones: "I’ve just come badk (sic) from Alicante on Ryanair…nightmare!!!! I won’t be flying with them again anytime soon!!!”
It was a policy. Every air passenger ought to know, the budget airline claims. Should it be for free? Is it indeed a highway robbery? Will the airline passengers expect changes in the coming days?
