Should Justin Bieber Publicly Apologize to Manny Pacquiao after Instagram Mocking? [PHOTOS]
Pissing off an entire country is a big offense, but Justin Bieber did it with no qualms by making fun of Manny Pacquiao's loss in his Instragram account. Should he say sorry to Filipinos, more importantly, to the famed boxer?
The Canadian pop superstar has made a lot of boxing fans angry with the Instagram photos he personally edited to make fun of Filipino boxer, Manny Pacquiao.
Justin Bieber made sure the online world is aware about his giddy feelings towards Pacquiao's defeat against Mexico's Juan Manuel Marquez last Sunday. The singer posted edited photos on Instagram, mocking Pacquiao's knock out during the early stages of the bout. One photo shows Simba, a character from Disney's 'The Lion King,' looking over the fallen Pacquiao, and another where "Pacman" is leaning alongside Michael Jackson.
"Pacquiao doing the lean with MJ .. ClassicMoment." wrote Bieber in the photo's caption.
It's obvious that Bieber is not a huge fan of the boxer, and has proclaimed his undying support for Floyd Mayweather, Pacquiao's "arch enemy" in the sport.
Bieber then followed with comments favoring Mayweather after Pacquiao's loss to Marquez. "He has nothing to gain fighting Pacquiao, Floyd has never in his professional career lost a fight and Pacquiao lost his last two fights," tweeted the Canadian superstar.
Because of this, Filipinos and Pacquiao fans all over the globe are enraged with the insensitivity shown by Bieber without considering the kind of training and preparations Manny had to go through. Many say that Bieber should apologize, especially after the boxer has made sure that these comments do not affect him or his determination to do better.
Because Bieber is a person widely followed around the world, fans insist that Bieber should apologize to the boxer, even in a simple manner of tweeting that he is sorry for posting such immature photos.
One local Philippine government official, Yacap party-list Representative, Carol Jane Lopez, is convinced that Bieber should be banned from entering the country after the remarks he made in the social networking site. She has declared the singer a "persona non grata," and is urging the Filipino youth to abandon listening to his music for shaming the country's unofficial national hero.
What do you think? Should "The Biebs" prepare a "sorry note" to the Philippines?
