The Show Must Go On: Fashion Police Will Continue Without Joan Rivers
The management of 'Fashion Police' has officially decided to continue the show after the sudden death of Joan Rivers. The decision came after weeks of speculations with regard the future of the show, which had been highly appreciated by the public due to the wit and humour of Rivers.
Huffington Post reported that E!Network recently released an official statement that the show will be back on air by January 2015. The statement clearly indicated that the aforementioned decision was made after weeks of brainstorming. Finally, the show's officials concluded that the late host would have wanted the show to go on.
'Fashion Police' is produced by Melissa Rivers and has been hosted by her mother for the last four years. For the next season, the show's long-time co-hosts, Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos, might be joined by a new face.
No official information has been released regarding the identity of the new host. The show will commence with the exclusive coverage of the Golden Globe Awarding Ceremony. The format might be altered a bit to accommodate the absence of the star host of the show.
Rancic admitted to ABC news that the team had been in shock after Rivers' death, and no one had any idea as to how to proceed with the show. They were even speculating that the show might be cancelled forever as it will not be the same without the presence of the much loved and clever host.
Only two days before the tragic incident, the 81-year-old host was seen working on the format of bad celebrity fashion choices during the MTV VMAs and Emmy Awards. Last seen on August 26 on the same show, she was observed to have sounded a little raspier. However, she was said to be in pretty good shape. Throughout the show, she did not hold herself back while commenting on the fashion blunders committed by some celebrities.
'Fashion Police' was started in 2010. The show focused on the fashion choices of celebrities. The news that the show will continue into its next season was received with mixed responses from its fans.
Melissa Rivers paid an exclusive tribute to her mother on the show, which was aired through E!Network. Find the video below:
