Simon Cowell has spoken up. The X-Factor boss, who is expecting his first child with socialite Lauren Silverman, says he would love to talk about the "sensitive matter."

"I would love to talk about it but I have to respect a lot of people's feelings!" Simon told Hollywood Life. "Absolutely [there are misconceptions]. There are a lot of things I will clear up when the time is right, but I have to be sensitive with everyone's feelings that are involved."

Cowell was taken by surprise and appeared shock, his ex-flame Sinitta took to Twitter and called it 'Something has just happened ..half miracle, half nightmare!" But there is one person who is absolutely delighted at the music mogul's baby news and that is his mother Juile Brett.

Julie has revealed she is "absolutely delighted" at the reports and is confident that he will make "a fantastic father," she told The Sun. His mother, Julie Brett, now in her 80s, is a former ballet dancer and socialite.

However the 53-year-old has tried to remain silent on the baby news. When questioned about the baby news, the X Factor boss said a news conference in Los Angeles, "I haven't read the papers, did I miss anything?"

"Unfortunately, I have to keep this, for the moment, private. It's just one of those things. Thank you very much anyway," the first time would-be dad added without revealing anything more.

In May 2013, Cowell's lawyer denied rumours that he was romantically involved with socialite Lauren Silverman, the wife of Cowell's friend, real estate developer Andrew Silverman. The lawyer stated that, "any implication or statement that my client is engaged in adultery and has allegedly broken up the marriage of Ms. Silverman is not only false but reckless."

However, on 15 July 2013, Andrew Silverman filed for an at-fault divorce in New York, citing adultery by his wife and naming Cowell as a co-respondent. News of the divorce filing became public two weeks later, when it was widely reported that Lauren Silverman and Cowell are expecting a baby.

The child will be the first for Cowell, but the second for Silverman, who has a son with her husband.

The Silvermans released separate statements expressing concern for the well-being of their son during the divorce process. Cowell is the godfather of pop singer Sinitta's adopted children.

The Daily Mail has floated pictures of the music mogul holidaying with Silverman on his private yatch with is husband in January. The trio appears relaxed as they appear to be relaxing in the sun.

In February 2010, Cowell was engaged to make up artist Mezhgan Hussainy, whom he had met on the set of American Idol but the couple broke up in 2012. Cowell also confessed to having an affair with fellow The X Factor judge Dannii Minogue during her time on the show.
