The U.S. X-factor finalist and G.R.L. band member, Simone Battle, was found dead in her home on September 6. As per reports, the 25-year-old singer was found dead in her West Hollywood home by her father Anthony Battle.
The G.R.L. Twitter account posted the message confirming the news of the death of their loved band member. "Words cannot express the depth of our loss. Simone's incredible talent was only surpassed by the size of her heart," the group members shared.
The five-member band G.R.L. was in Australia last month, where they had a double platinum hit with their latest single 'Ugly Heart'. Pussycat Dolls founder, Robin Antin, is also the creator of this group. G.R.L has been regarded as the next generation version of Antin's first group. Prior to Battle's death, the band has been anticipated to be on the verge of becoming a household name.
Recently the band collaborated with Pitbull for the song 'Wild Wild Love', which instantly rose to number 30 in Billboard's hot 100 this year.
The late singer was a crucial member of the band. She first rose to fame as one of the X-Factor U.S. finalists in 2011. As per CNN, she spent most of her childhood in Los Angeles where she landed modelling assignments in TV commercials. She even had a small role in the 2012 movie 'We the Party', which was directed by Mario Van Peebles.
Before joining X-factor, Battle studied music and song writing at the University of Southern California.
The news of the singer's death broke out when the music producer Derek Butler paid her tribute via Instagram. "I'm still in shock and in disbelief to have confirmed the death of my childhood friend @SimoneBattle," wrote the producer. "Her heart was pure gold and her star power limitless. Rest in sweet peace Angel. #simonebattle #rip #grl (sic)," he added.
The exact cause of Battle's death is not yet officially confirmed. However, as per US reports, preliminary findings suggest a case of suicide. The family and friends of the singer have expressed their shock on the untimely end of such a beautiful and talented life.
