Asia has slowly become the next big market for boxing as promotional outfits such Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions and Bob Arum' Top Rank continue to stage bigtime fights in the continent.

In November, Macau will host their first ever high-profile fight between former pound-for-pound champion Manny Pacquiao and welterweight contender Brandon 'Bam Bam' Rios. Next year could also a big one for another Asian city as sources indicated Singapore as the host for the much-awaited showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

According to an insider, Pacquiao could have a shot at fighting Mayweather if he wins his next bout against the hard-hitting Rios five months from now. The Pacman is coming off a disappointing year in boxing after losing controversially to Tim Bradley Jr. and getting knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez in December 2012.

On the other hand, Mayweather will face light middleweight kingpin Saul Canelo Alvarez on Sept 14 at MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas. Many analysts believe it will be a risky fight for Mayweather given that Alvarez has the skills and power to knock out any opponent. A loss to Canelo would surely spike up the interest in finally arranging a bout between the two best boxers of the last decade.

Macau and Manila are the cities being mentioned to host the dream bout. However, Singapore is steadily making its run to stage the big boxing event.
