‘Sisters’ Reunites 2015 Golden Globes Hosts Tina Fey, Amy Poehler On Big Screen 7 Years After ‘Baby Mama’
Seven years after their comedy film “Baby Mama,” Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will reunite on the big screen through their upcoming Universal Pictures film “Sisters,” which will be released on Dec. 18.
Previously known for its working title “The Nest,” “Sisters” is directed by Jason Moore, who is known for his films “Pitch Perfect” and “Shrek the Musical.” The screenplay was written by former “30 Rock” and “Saturday Night Live” writer Paula Pell.
In “Sisters,” Fey and Poehler will play adult sisters who come home to find their parents selling their childhood home. As a result, the sisters are on a mission to take back their glory days by throwing one final house party before their family home gets sold.
Joining Fey and Poehler in the “Sisters” cast are Maya Rudolph, John Leguizamo, Kate McKinnon, Ike Barinholtz, Dan Byrd, Madison Davenport, Heather Matarazzo, Britt Lower, Kate McKinnon, James Brolin, Greta Lee, Dianne Wiest, Adrian Martinez, Jackie Tohn, John Lutz and WWE superstar John Cena among others.
Recently, Fey and Poehler hosted the Golden Globes for the third time. After Universal Pictures released the first promo for “Sisters” during the 72nd Golden Globe Awards, a 20-second trailer of the film was posted on YouTube. Watch it here:
