The first images from the set of Skyfall show Daniel Craig looking a little worse for wear.

Just Jared snapped him with a slightly haggard appearance that is a far cry from the put-together mystique of James Bond that the world is used to.

Very few details have been revealed about the 23rd James Bond movie in development, although the impressive cast list has been released. Daniel Craig will reprise the starring role, while the supporting cast includes Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Judi Dench, Ben Wishaw, Naomie Harris and Albert Finney.

It is the third Bond film with Craig as the suave agent, and producer Barbara Broccoli assures fans it will not be the last.

"Yes definitely," Broccoli answers in the press briefing, when asked if Craig will continue to appear in the wildly popular franchise.

The rock-solid relationship of Bond and M (Dench) will be tested in this flick, as the older woman's past comes into light.

"As MI6 (British intelligence) comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost," a press release says of the plot.

Producers also confirm Bond will be taken to far-flung places for this mission, including London, Shanghai, Istanbul and Scotland.

Diehard fans will be pleased to learn the film is determined to stay true to the traditional Bond action sequences, even with updates that keep it modern and original.

"The important thing for me is making sure that the action belongs in that movie, cause there's such a thing as a Bond kind of action, and then there's a subset of that which is our 'Skyfall' kind of action, they all have their own definitions," screenwriter John Logan tells the website Collider.

He shares that he doesn't consider Skyfall to be a standalone, even if it has a separate storyline from Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

"I don't think these films are standalone, I think they're part of a legacy," Logan explains in the interview.

"When I was working on it I was deeply aware as much of Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale as I was of Thunderball, as I was of Ian Fleming in the 50s writing it, you know you're a float in a parade," he adds.

The highly anticipated Bond movie will be released on October 2012.
