The first episode of "Sleepy Hollow" Season 2 is titled "Hellfire." Ken Olin has directed the episode, while Mark Goffman has written it.

Katia Winter, who plays Katrina Crane, recently posted the cover page of her script for season 2 Episode 1 on her Instagram account. She tweeted about it, saying that Goffman's written episode is a "real killer."

The new season of "Sleepy Hollow" will introduce a new sheriff. E! Online reports that this new character is called Sheriff Vasquez, a "smart, forceful, highly trained" officer. She is "commanding but also has a warm and maternal side." A resident of Sleepy Hollow, Sheriff Vasquez has worked with the U.S. Border Patrol in Texas, according to the report.

Mark Goffman, co-executive producer of "Sleepy Hollow," had hinted at the PaleyFest that this character will be an unfriendly person, not someone who will be on Crane and Abbie's side.

Alex Kurtzman, co-executive producer of "Sleepy Hollow," had said at the Paleyfest that "redemption" will be one of the themes of the new season. The Crane couple will be seen struggling with this theme, as they come to terms with their son's real identify.

In the season finale of "Sleepy Hollow" Season 2, it was revealed that Henry Parrish, the sin-eater, is Jeremy Ichabod, the son of Ichbod Crane and Katrina. In addition to that, Jeremy is also the Second Horseman of the Apocalypse.

Len Wiseman, co-executive producer of "Sleepy Hollow," said, as quoted by Entertainment Weekly, "As evil as he is, it's still their son -- so it's not gonna be an easy to decide what to do with him."

In addition to the Sheriff Vasquez, the new season is set to introduce more new characters. "There are a lot of amazing foot soldiers coming, familiar and also original," Bob Orci, co-creator and co-executive producer, had said at the PaleyFest.

John Noble, who plays Henry Parrish, will be returning as series regular in the new season.
