Fox's "Sleepy Hollow" was one of the hits of the 2013 Fall Premiere Season. It was renewed for Season 2 before the end of Season 1. The new season goes beyond the town of Sleepy Hollow.

When "Sleepy Hollow" returns, Ichabod Crane will experience things beyond the boundaries of Sleepy Hollow, according to TV Guide.

Roberto Orci, executive producer of "Sleepy Hollow," said to TV Guide: "It is the beginning of expanding the reach of the storytelling. Also, not just for the mythology and evil coming to town, but Ichabod seeing the rest of the world is a fascinating thing."

Orci said Ichabod has seen the modern society "through the lens of a town that resembles his own town to a great degree, except more Starbucks." The executive producer added they plan to open up the world for Ichabod.

Len Wiseman, co-creator and executive producer of "Sleepy Hollow," noted to TV Line a new, important character will be introduced in Season 2. Also, there is a possibility of someone from Abbie's family getting introduced in the upcoming season.

Confirming the introduction of new characters, Mark Goffman, executive producer of "Sleepy Hollow," said to Entertainment Weekly, "One of the big goals, which goes along with the idea of war in Sleepy Hollow, is that we need to populate the town more."

To build out and provide more information about the town of Sleepy Hollow, new characters will be introduced, according to Goffman. He hinted some of the characters will be "supernatural."

John Noble, the sin-eater/Henry, will be joining the cast of "Sleepy Hollow" as a series regular in Season 2, according to Deadline. It comes with no surprise, as it was revealed in the Season 1 finale that Henry is Jeremy and the second horseman. Lyndie Greenwood, according to Deadline, has also been promoted.

Fox has yet to announce the premiere date for Season 2. But it is expected to return sometime in fall 2014.
