In June this year Mariah reportedly dislocated her shoulder while filming for her latest music video "Beautiful". But that didn't keep her nursing her bruises at home. Before her performance with the New York Philharmonic at the MLB All Stars Charity Concert in Central Park for victims of Hurricane Sandy, Carey tweeted: "In a sling, but will do my best to make it look good with the ensemble Sat with the NY Philharmonic, an amazing honor for such a great cause."

She did stand true to her word - by sounding, and looking great. She wore three different slings on stage and made them into style accessories instead of just plain muscle support.

With a white gown - she wore two different slings - a crystal-encrusted sling that did show some fingers and hands. The other white sling was a plush "fur" sling that totally covered her, hands and all. With a black front-tie-up dress that seemed studded, she wore a black feather sling - that made her look a bit like a bird with a broken wing - or maybe that was the idea.

Still more recently at the red carpet of her new film Lee Daniels "The Butler", Mariah rocked in a Tom Ford dress and Valentino heels. What stole the show was her studded leather arm sling that complimented the dress perfectly.
