Audiences everywhere are in for a good time as The Smurfs make their first 3D trip to the big screen in Columbia Pictures'/Sony Pictures Animation's hybrid live-action and animated family comedy. When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world into ours - in the middle of New York Central Park. The Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.

Neil Patrick Harris and Hank Azaria star in the live-action, animated family comedy. It features the voices of Katy Perry and George Lopez. The Smurfs is a great film for kids but it offers very little humor for teens and parents. That seems to be the case with most family films that combine animation with live action. The film received generally negative reviews from film critics. However, it certainly does not take away the fact that The Smurfs is a fun, adventurous and heartwarming family movie.
