The second trailer for After Earth allows audiences a deeper look into the intriguing adventure storyline that has Will Smith and son Jaden playing onscreen father and son desperately trying to survive in a harsh post-apocalyptic Earth.

M. Night Shyamalan's After Earth tells the story of a strict father Cypher (Will) and his teenage son Kitai (Jaden) who are off to spend time together and ended up plummeting to Earth, a planet abandoned by humans a thousand years ago due to its increasing danger.

Disturbing creatures, extreme climate and a ragged landscape shows exactly why man gave up on the planet when it did. As Will Smith's character put it, "Everything has evolved to kill humans." It might not be particularly encouraging, but it makes for a thrilling, adrenaline pumping ride in the cinemas.

Just like the first trailer, the second one emphasizes Cypher's mantra "Fear is a choice" at the end, and it is this line that will surely be an inspiring tag line outside movie theaters for fans of the film.

Following Shyamalan's box office misses as of late, After Earth draws star power from its proven main cast. This is not the pair's first-time to headline a big budget movie, having appeared in the inspiring drama The Pursuit of Happyness in 2006. Back then, Jaden was a fresh-faced child following the footsteps of his famous father. In After Earth, the fourteen year old is a full-grown teenager who is making a name for himself as an actor. Tall, handsome and charming (just like a young Will Smith), Jaden is blessed with all the goods that will make him a superstar in the future-it is in his blood after all.

After Earth hits theaters worldwide on June 7.
