A couple of years ago, "Easy A" star Emma Stone may have innocently sent out signals that finally reached the recipient when NBC invited her to host, together with musical guest Kings of Leon, the October 23 episode of the "Saturday Night Live."

It was way back in 2004 when Stone told AccessHollywood.com of her dream of being on SNL and after getting it told The Hollywood Reporter, "For as long as I can remember this has been my No. 1 dream. I'm just trying to enjoy it while it's happening."

Stone received mixed feedback from her SNL stint. While movieline.com calls her hosting "serviceable, never really taking the lead in any of the sketches in which she appeared," another site, monstersandcritics.com, said of the comedy actress, "We knew she was funny - but last night she really brought it." A fan site, Emma Stone Connection, gave her a solid B+ as she "didn't hit on every sketch she was in."

While still having a hang-over from her SNL hosting, Stone may have to run to her hairdresser to get back her natural blonde look in order to play Gwen Stacy opposite Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker in the 3-D Spider Man movie.

The arrangement for Stone to play Gwen, who actually is Spidey's first love interest, may not necessarily end up as a one-time deal. Gwen's role may be called again when the villain Green Goblin, who will not make an appearance in the coming movie, finally comes to kill her as told in the comics. This of course all depends on the storyline (if people in charge would remain faithful to the Spider Man story) and on the movie's performance in the box office.
