Rapper Snoop Dogg was arrested in Oslo, Norway for marijuana possession.

According to Norwegian media reports, Calvin Broadus (a.k.a. Snoop Dogg) was allegedly carrying eight grams of weed when he entered the country. The rapper was fined for the allegedly undeclared cash he was carrying with him for his tour.

Snoop was fined about $8,600 for the violations, AP said. Small fraction of the fine is for the drug fine. He was only briefly detained and was let go after paying up, but still showed up five hours late to the event he was headlining.

Snoop denied the incident to reporters who asked the reason of his tardiness. However, the rapper also concocted a creative explanation for his late appearance in his show.

"I was late 'cause I went to go get some chicken wings ... 'cause I wanted to see Norway up close and personal, and visit an old folks' home. I went to visit a convalescent home. That's why I was late," E!Online reported.

This is not the first time Snoop Dogg was arrested due to marijuana possession. The rapper was cited in 1998 when caught possessing less than ounce of marijuana following a concert in Los Angeles. In 2001, he was caught again due to marijuana possession in Cleveland when police officers found 200 grams of cannabis in his tour bus.

In Norway, possession of up to 15 grams of weed is punishable only by a fine and not jail time.

There is a lot of celebrities caught possessing hemp. Moreover, there are celebrities openly disclosed that they smoked pot and supported legalization of marijuana.
