Channel 10 is all set to revive the dance show "So You Think You Can Dance" in 2014.

It is time to get on to the dance floor as the announcement is made public within months after Ten had a disastrous season in their earlier stint with the show. It got terrible ratings. The Australian version of the dance reality show was aired on Channel Ten between 2008 and 2010. Natalie Bassingthwaighte hosted the show along with judges Bonnie Lythgoe, Matt Lee and Jason Coleman.

On the other hand, Bassingthwaighte is under contract with Seven for another talent reality show "The X Factor". Channel Ten is yet to announce if the original team of judges will continue to be a part of the 2014 version of "So You Think You Can Dance". The American version of the show is now screened by Channel Ten.

Beverley McGarvey believes that the dance show is a wonderful example of entertainment for the entire family. The channel wants to showcase the wide variety of exceptional dancers from Australia. It is going to be an opportunity for them to realize their dreams.

When the talent reality show had the premiere in 2008, it had a staggering rating of 1.83m across five major cities of Australia. In 2009, it had an average rating of 1.279m. 2010 saw a huge drop in ratings. When the winner was announced in the finale, it attracted around 1.041m people whereas it was 1.452m the year before at the finale.

The decision to get the reality show back apparently has a lot to do with the potential strength of the show itself. Channel Ten decides to get it back after a break of four years while Shine Australia is going to produce it.

Producers are going to host the auditions starting September 2013 across the country. Outstanding dancers will be selected to perform at the live contest shows. The producers seem to be more excited than ever to host the show in order to showcase the incredibly talented dancers of the country.
