It is not easy to decide who is better when it comes to take sides with soccer players Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Two of them have been on top of the game in last few years. A recent study has revealed who is the most valuable player of the soccer/football world, based on their estimated price.
According to a study conducted by CIES Football observatory , Barcelona club soccer player and Argentina national team captain Lionel Messi is the most valuable soccer player of the world. Second place in the list is acquired by Portugal national team captain Cristiano Ronaldo. Uruguayan footballer and Liverpool player Luis Suarez earned himself third place in the list of most valued soccer players.
The study found out that Lionel Messi's worth is twice as much as Cristiano Ronaldo's value. While Ronaldo's value is set at £85.2 million, Messi is worth £161.5 million.
Ninth edition of the annual report determined that Luis Suarez is third most valuable soccer player, worth £79.4 million. Chelsea's Eden Hazard's valuation places him fourth and Brazilian and Barcelona footballer Neymar's value places him fifth in the list.
Top 10 also consists of Juventus' Paul Pogba, Real Madrid's Gareth Bale, Arsenal's Mesut Ozil, Paris St-Germain's Edinson Cavani and Bayern Munchen's Mario Gotze.
In order to determine the price of each player the research group took several factors in consideration. According to the CIES report, the annual report is based on analysis of clubs and players in the big-5 European leagues. It considers various perspectives for the analyses including "demographic, economic and pitch performance." The report is composed of four sections including: player market value, player performance, club performance and club demographics.
The review produced price tag for 60 players. The youngest amongst these top 60 players is Southampton's Luke Shaw and the oldest soccer player is Paris SG's Thiago Silva. The findings also note that Lionel Messi's club Barcelona has the highest transfer value (€ 593 million). Top 5 is completed by Cristiano Ronaldo's Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Chelsea.
